General Remarks
1. Explanation of Pakshini (1.5 days of Theetu):
Pakshini (1.5 days) is a period of 90 nazhikai (i.e. 36 hours). This is a period of two nights and one day (or) a period of two days and one night. The impurity will be removed only if one does not eat during the day on the day of Theetu. (If one eats, one remains impure until the next morning)
2. If a death occurs during the day on the first day and one comes to know about this after eating during the day the next day, then if one does not eat for a long time and takes a bath after sunset, the Theetu will be removed.
3. Generally, the Theetu of 1.5 days ends with the person (man or woman) who has died. If the wife (or husband) of that man (or woman) dies, then only bathing is required.
4. For example, if the aunt dies, the child of the deceased is given only 1.5 days, but if the husband of the aunt dies, the child of the deceased is given only a bath. This is a matter for men.
5. Whatever Theetu the husband has, the wife also has.
6. If you are a female, and if you don't find the relationship in the dropdown, please look up Theetu for your husband to know what's applicable to you.
